Engerica - 'The Smell' (Wrath)

The sound of a hangover, Engerica; pummelling, pulverising, agitatedly persisting - an overhanging sense of helplessness surrounding the whole ordeal.
Yet, somehow, second single of the alt-Brit hopefuls, 'The Smell', is slightly more enjoyable than your average morning after the over-indulgence before. This is bruised, bloody rock with weighty, steel balls, where riffage denotes class and deadpan-delivery counts for all. It sneers, pouts and somehow still maintains a sly, wry, dry sense of wit. Head-banging has never proven so endearing.
