Not an outrageous American FM shock-jock and entourage, but in fact an Irish cocktail-lounge crooner (real name Gerald Whelan) who sounds quite a bit like Tom Waits and used to be in a band called Emotional Fish.
Better than the somewhat pedestrian title-track are the b-sides; 'It Doesn't Get Much Better Than This', a sozzled, slightly sinister little late-night number, and 'Did You Ever?' a toe-tappin' country duet in the custom of the Grand Ol' Opry. Intriguingly forthright.
