Buffalo Daughter - 'Pshychic' (V2)
3/5
By: Matt Tomiak

Like nothing else in the latest batch of rockfeedback's musical goodies, come Buffalo Daughter.
Playful, if longwinded, meanderings from Japan, Buffalo Daughter create hypnotic, mind-expanding musical landscapes with hints of good-natured, dance/synth tomfoolery. 'S.O.I.D.' is a little more customary, but that's not saying a great deal given the company it keeps: the lunatic 'Chihuahua Punk' having preceded it.
And it's not just the threesome's sound that does its best to thwart conventional categorisation - so does the format of their music. There are only five tracks here, but the total running-time exceeds 40 minutes. This may all sound a bit wearing, and indeed by the time of squelchy bleep-fest '303 Live', a single-sitting listen may be starting to feel like an arduous task.
But it doesn't feel as though this could have come from anywhere else in the world. Yup, it's quite a grand scale that BD seem to like to do things on... 'Quirky' isn't the half of it.
