The Mutts - 'Missing My Devil' (Fat Cat)
3/5
By: Samantha Hall

Datsuns-esque screeches and Mclusky-style vocal-shudders are the pineapple to the sleazy-riffed, retro rhythms of The Mutts' cheese. Result? A timeless, ideal accompanying for a very particularly paranoid narcotics-party.
Strangely menacing and sexually confrontational, 'Missing My Devil' is a prime slab of what this Brighton foursome have to offer; yes it's all very cool - it'll be the hot-dog at Whitechapel's Rhythm Factory, no argument, but we've just heard it all before. Crackly gee-tar, timely trad-solo. The Mutts have got the cigar - it's just not Cuban.
