Graham Coxon - 'Freakin' Out' (Transcopic)
4/5
By: Toby L

An anguished, ardent yell against the oft exciting, if uninspiring, garage-punk furore of recent years, 'Freakin' Out' is the return of the wonkily-bespectacled guitar-visionary, boy Coxon.
'Got on your Aviator shades/Yeah man, you're looking really ace/So what the hell are you doing here/Filling the space between my ears...'
Graham's return is a surprisingly assured, rapt, punk-tribute, all fast, scratching guitars and plunging rhythms, infectious verse and choral-refrains and some of that wizard-like six-string action that has made GC a British institution. Coupled with a scratchy, forgivingly similar flip-side - the shorter dash of 'Feel Right' - if only this were available as not just a ltd-ed. 7"; for then the charts would be falling slain once more to the return of one of our greatest, most awkward heroes for over a decade.
