Chikinki - 'Like It Or Leave It' (Universal-Island)

Opening (and continuing) not unlike a Radiohead chord-tapestry, 'Like It Or Leave It' is an intricate, intriguing, very Bristol state of affairs.
For Chikinki reign from the city when bloopy-poopy synth-distraction and white-noise dissonance is a must; and what would otherwise be a sweet, if incredulous, aching ode is turned into a mass-foray of fiddly guitars, sombre keys and frontman Rupert's admirably deranged vocal-contortions. It's actually quite, quite intoxicating. Which is more than can be said for b-side, 'Pervy Song'.
