Engineers - 'Home' (Echo)

The spirit of Elbow with the sensitivity and longing of Keane; to release a double A-side as your debut single, to us, seems slightly lacking in confidence in the originality and indeed saleability of your material (at first).
However, 'Home' and 'New Horizons' seem to be both in retrospect jolly, wooing oceanic numbers - lardy with floating guitars and humming vocals. However, the Engineers are far more whale blubber than mermaid fancy. In this current hot trend of sweeping, 'rugged landscape' indie collectives - Engineers are still yet to fully push the boat out. Be around when they do.
