Adam Masterson - 'Sunlight Song' (BMG)
4/5
By: Kevin Molloy

Completely re-recording songs from your album to release on single isn't a normal tact of the musical world, but when it works this well, don't knock it. The new version of 'Sunlight Song' only serves to enhance its dreamily picked guitars and aching melody. The song is distilled happiness, luxuriantly spilled back into a microphone and into your ears.
And the b-side proves just as refreshing; no 'extra' album tracks for this single, but in fact an inspired re-working of The Clash's 'Gates of the West' is what we are treated to, Masterson wearing yet another cultural influence on his sleeve. And a treat it is indeed, swirling organs and acoustic guitars, with that voice make a contender even to the original, without ever sounding over produced. Something Special he could be; just give him time.
