Neon - 'A Man' (Transcopic)

4/5

Neon - 'A Man'

Fresh from slaying US audiences amidst an antipodean-flavoured take-over of the States - a tour featuring The Vines, Jet and The Living End - Neon are the latest from the Winterman & Goldstein stable: those that brought us the two former acts and the recently comatose-ridden Rocket Science (we wish frontman of that band, Roman, a speedy recovery).

Neon's debut UK unveiling is, predictably, a 'teaser' limited-edition EP, compiling their radio-swamping, rollicking, ingratiatingly melodic 'A Man', plus lo-fi demo-recordings of anthemic ballad, 'Friend' (a potential smash in itself), the chipper, growling shudder of 'Hit Me Again' and epic, sprawling finale 'Everything'. And we can't help but like it very much; hooks-strewn, recurrently charming and boasting some infectious harmonies, Neon are a gleaming, translucent sensation you'll not find a chore to adore.
