They've served as post-Madchester baggy dance merchants, populist indie anthem-makers, and sexed-up soul funksters. And, to appropriate a line from their very own classic single 'North Country Boy', we loved them just the same.
The latest incarnation of Northwich's bestest sees an attempt at a brisk, pub piano knees-up number to set the tone for forthcoming album 'At The Lake.' And as suits one of the nation's best-loved bands, The Charlies' latest guise seems to fit just as well as any of their previous forms.
