No mistakes; this is a strutter. After a long night, and a longer morning, this is one to play on the iPod while you leave your past behind.
Not perky, just sturdy and steady, Secret Machines come away from the night shamelessly bellowing, 'You're just lonely...you're still in love with me and you don't know why.' The guitars confirm any such bold, brash cockiness with a consistent twang as unrelenting drums bash away. And while by no means ground-breaking, Secret Machines capture some quality late-60's guitar-squall, and - in the process - show much promise. After all, a bit of psychedelic swagger never hurt anyone.
