Ladies and Gentlemen of the jury, m'lud, I have before me three pieces of evidence to prove beyond all reasonable doubt that Brand New are, despite the heaviness, 'soppy'.
Exhibit 'A', m'lud, the title-track: all screeching, corkscrewing riffs, incomprehensible shouting and a slow bit before one last loud bit at the end. Exhibits 'B': acoustic hypersensitive vulnerability-a plenty. Exhibit 'C': 'Moshi Moshi' contains the line: 'I know that you're an angel/You could never stay true' and goes on to reference 'high school' and 'summer time'. Case closed.
