Some people just can't sit still. As if performing fervent guitar duties in the nation's favourite Irish commercial rock band wasn't enough, Ash's Charlotte Hatherley now finds the inspiration to inflict upon us her own pop guitar-stomps.
'Kim Wilde', like its creator, is a fidgety, restless number with a plethora of time-changes, varying chord-sequences and quite infectious arrangements, backed by the almost timidly humble lungs of Hatherley. A download-45, it seems a shame the sacrifice of a chart-entry should fall to the trendy lure of online-marketing, but - f**k it - the album's out in August.
