Scissor Sisters - 'Laura' (Polydor)
3/5
By: Toby L
More gay pop from New York's Scissor Sisters, with an opening piano-hammer that not-so-subtly rips off Dre and 2-Pac's 'California Love'; well, beats The Village People.
'Laura' sluggishly continues in the playful, club-partay vein of their prior 'Take Your Mama' and top-ten breakthrough 'Comfortably Numb', and it's dumb, spunky and fruity frolicking from the off, right to its daft, sax-infested conclusion. Groovy. What, you expected more?
