Longview - 'In A Dream' (14th Floor)

We all have our sorrows, but not all of us are meant to broadcast them. Some have a talent for this, for which they are well-noted and respected: Beethoven, Kurt Cobain, Morrissey, and any other number of artists who have publicly drowned in their sorrows, taking a tidal wave of commiserating fans with them. Others strive for similar greatness, but not all make it.
Enter Longview. 'In A Dream' bears a near Xerox copy of Coldplay's title-track to 'A Rush of Blood to the Head', in its piano, guitar, and even some chords. Musically, it wouldn't be a bad thing if Chris Martin & co. hadn't done it first. Weepy, yet lacking emotion, let's hope that Longview's sorrows either end, or they find a more creative way to cure them.
