Comforting Parisian lounge-poppers Phoenix are back with another lift from their current, and very much fine, 'Alphabetical' long-player.
It's ace. And brimming with the same sort of adorably slick Pharrell Williams production we can offer this side of the US, like their native land's Daft Punk and Air, Phoenix cautiously cross the boundaries between disco and jazz-rock, whilst still managing to sound the sleekest, most endearing pop outfit you may hear in summer 2004. Here's to unreasonable genre-bending; it can work. If you're French, at least.
