PJ Harvey - 'You Come Through' (Universal-Island)
3/5
By: Tim Dellow
Perhaps the most pensive moment on the auteuristic beauty's new album, a cyclical vibraphone sonnet, subtly augmented with strings and harmonica. A tale of friendship and support, eclipsing the negative aspects of living in human shell. Lifting a lover through hardship and asking for nothing in return. An uncontrived, painfully honest "thank you", the sentiment undiminished by the song's brevity.
Perhaps working better in the context of an album, this chapter still delights by itself, but, forebodingly for the sharks, lacks the scale necessary to threaten the charts.
