Silvertide - 'The EP' (BMG)
2/5

Truckers, motorbike enthusiasts, and those for whom KFC is a way of life, might be interested to know that there's a new rock outfit tearing tracks along the road.
Silvertide's debut EP is a four-song taster of the downright dirty rock currently experiencing a renaissance with bands such as Velvet Revolver; and, thankfully for womankind, this does not include pony-tails and beer bellies, so leave the balding and string vests to Rab C Nesbitt.
At a tender twenty-one years, some might dismiss Silvertide as metal poseurs, investing more effort into behind-the-head guitar solos than in invention, however, this EP demonstrates the glistening future on the live circuit that awaits them. Though they may not be sallying the boundaries laid down by Guns 'N' Roses, The Black Crowes, Aerosmith and Led Zeppelin, good-time rock 'n' roll only requires a little Jack Daniels and a neck unafraid of repetitive strain injury.
