Yay/bollocks. Fountains of Wayne are back with yet another ridiculously infectious ditty. The acoustic guitar charms and delights with such playful swing, it's ironic that the lyrics dwell on the drone of the 'office space' life; venting about a boss who wears clip-on bow ties and has a 'spray-on' tan, the office sap manages to survive by reminding himself of his beloved Julia, who will greet him when he comes home. Ah.
Yes, FOW have never been anything but sugary pop, and 'Hey Julie' is no exception. The humorous imagery of the toupee'd boss is the only thing saving this song from giving you a cavity. But like your favorite sweets, for some reason, you just can't help yourself.
