Johnny Panic - 'Burn Your Youth' (Concept)

3/5

By: Lauren Gallagher

Johnny PanicAsk anyone if this is Yank or limey, and as long as they're not suffering from an acute bout of severe deafness that day, they'll choose the former - despite the fact that Johnny Panic hails from South East London. Uh-oh; someone's been listening to a bit of the Jimmy Eat World, a touch more of the Yellowcard...

So this pop-punk rattler is nothing but persistent, and will have any and every teeny-bopper who likes tight drumming and 'oh-way-oh' sing-a-long choruses pogo-ing 'til they drop dead. It's catchy, it's fun, but naggingly predictable, and although earnest, doesn't earn any points on the originality score. The vision is there; if Johnny Panic starts thinking out of the box, we'll be in business.
