Interpol - 'Slow Hands' (Matador)
5/5
By: Toby L
Few could have felt it as intensely as Interpol; the pressure, man - the expectant eyes, the folded arms, the compulsion thrust upon the NYC quartet to deliver the frickin' goods for a second rekkid.
Like we could have anticipated anything else; 'Slow Hands' is a marvel. Just when Paul Banks' still-compelling, soulful bark ceases and the product descends into an organ section, it kicks in back like the rabid dancefloor smash it's set to become. Farther-reaching than anything off their prior, classic 'Turn On The Bright Lights', this is akin to the band's 'PDA' sped up and shoved through a Hit Single car-wash. Watch them drive off into the sunset.
