Weller makes a fair stab at soulful vibrato and sounds very much like Steve Marriott, on a song which many have covered, but only Rose Royce has truly sung.
Beautiful production, and top marks as covers go (a scarce award), but, really, the Modfather can and only will always be best remembered for his staccato, satirical hits. Rightly so.
