Engineers - 'Come In Out Of The Rain' (Echo)
3/5
By: Toby L
Not unlike Delays after devouring a truck-load of gak and smack, Engineers' 'Come In Out Of The Rain' is about as intricately ambient as the genre gets, replete with cascading washes of searchlight guitar, hushed, reverb-caked vox and the sense that if the world were to end any second, it wouldn't be, like, that much of a big deal.
'If I Were A Carpenter' follows - an acoustic waltz of Super Furries standards, minimalist and folk-like in its sparkling, calming understatement, and quietly psychedelic in its shameless, commendable repetition.
