Morrissey - 'Let Me Kiss You' (Attack)
3/5

Some more introspective and self-doubting nonsense from the quiff-monster himself, King Moz.
'Close your eyes and think of someone else you admire... And let me kiss you.'
It should be so tawdry, trite, obvious, crass - embarrassing, even. But it isn't. And our love-affair with Morrissey isn't built upon the foundation of pity either. It's gross thanks to the powers that be that we're not like the poor git. Yet at least he still crafts a sweeping, classic, questioning pop song with grace and class like no other. Fanatics ahoy - pick up the b-side: 'Don't Make Fun Of Daddy's Voice'; angry and thunderous in a similar, euphoric grit to his re-breakthrough hit, 'Irish Blood, English Heart'.
