If The Strokes asked 'Is this it?' on their debut, Orange County fallouts Giant Drag have taken it upon themselves to answer it, 'Love, Love, Love, this isn't it,' surreptitious punkette Annie Hardy blowing out the words in a nonchalant but brazen manner.
So we may be at the tail end of Striped-down garage, but Giant Drag have brainstormed an EP that may hint at where it can go. While the lead track tastes as different to the Yeah Yeah Yeahs as porridge does to Oat's So Simple, 'Cordial Invitation' could be an outtake from 'Loveless'. Elsewhere, the grungy grrl tendencies align her with Tanya D and Mrs. K. Deal, but you should've already ripped 'Pod' to I-Pod. It's out of time, ladies. Jump on Le Tigre's Gravy Train.
