Kasabian - 'Processed Beats' (BMG)
3/5

It's unmistakable. The sluggish, directionless vocals, the muddy, grinding melodies and the dry-tasting rhythm sections - begrudgingly, we must note: baggy is back.
Yet, however much of a Groundhog Day effect the consumer's music sphere holds, there is reluctant criticism. Despite the addictive chorus, instantly penetrative percussion and uplifting electronics, 'Processed Beats' fails to print a headline and seems to lack the velocity and focus. Which is ironic from a band whose name was inspired by Charles Mansion's getaway driver. Fortunately though, Kasabian seem to redeem themselves independently. Tom Meigham has perfected vocalising the Mancunian swagger and his confession, 'I run from the tide/Won't let you hide' is menacingly slurred. Convincingly so, too.
