James Blunt - 'High' (Atlantic)
1/5

So he may have had a pretty darn exciting existence so far, it seems our James is a regular freedom fighter. Jetting off saving foreign lands in Kosovo, defending the Queen Mother whilst laying in state before being proudly showcased at the prestigious South by South West Festival this summer. To top that, his recent leg of October dates played at some pretty hip-cat London venues, but 'High' just doesn't convince.
With the poetic intention of Damien Rice, but the melodic capability of Brian McFadden. 'High' swings along, politely and inoffensively, churning and repeating the same simple chorus-line over and over, and over again. A top-twenty hit amidst our saturated and weakening UK chart, no doubt.
