Dogs - 'She's Got A Reason' (Universal-Island)
3/5
By: Toby L
Filthy urchin punks Dogs unleash their debut single, 'She's Got A Reason'. And save for the glam 'ooh-ooh' parts in an extensive, whiny guitar-driven middle-eight, this is an exhaustive and noisy deluge of pub-rock grime - a chorus not so much sung as ferociously, vehemently, dementedly barked. Appropriate, really.
Hardly the most charming of exponents to rear itself in a new dawn of conveyor-belt delivered new packs, then, what Dogs avoid in grace and finesse, they at least endear in severe, honest dirt-art. Check crackingly offbeat b-side 'Why Do We Do It To Ourselves?' for more of the stuff.
