'What's Hideous?' Sorry guys, but you've set yourselves up for this one. This song, we can assuredly say, would certainly fit that description.
But try as we might, we can't quite help ourselves. This camp effrontery certainly comes with a guilty price. It's a melange of at least three genres we know we don't even like, but sheer bombast carries each shift off with a polished perfection. The song is absolute production decadence, smeared across the whole thing like chocolate body-paint. But DMBT have provided us with a sure-fire contender for dancefloor hit of the year.
Many of the same worries that plagued label-mates The Darkness will similarly haunt them (charges of novelty act being amongst the highest), but they deserve it far less, and are capable of so much more. In the meantime, however, we'll leave you with this: their horribly confusing, horrifically prodigious, and hideously good latest.
