Lavishly exerted, orchestral-keys driven psychedelia from the Buffalo, NY space-pilots whose 'Deserter's Songs' LP may still as yet be unbeaten, but whose dextrous and gall-packed, intergalactic allure remains intact.
'Across Yer Ocean' is all about the mood, man - the strings, the 'wave of emotion', the ethereal soundscape and enchantingly brittle vocals from Jonathan Donahue. What really makes it, however, are the equally expansive, almost classical b-sides; as warmingly endearing as a logfire and obese stomach-bulge in the chilling, desolate winter.
