A re-release from Bloc Party, which, having garnered them respect and recognition initially, will send them supernova this time.
'Banquet', though the most angular effort from massive debut LP 'Silent Alarm', is the cornerstone of the Bloc Party new wave shtick and beats contenders hands-down for danceability and resilient cutting-edge.
And though the London/various four-piece seemed to be biding their time whilst the likes of Franz Ferdinand and Razorlight went by scaling heights and seizing prizes, Bloc Party quietly built themselves from introverted indie secret to the band that will supersede them all. Never has a banquet been so dark, marauding, or delicious - go get yourself second-helpings now.
