Nine Inch Nails - 'Hand That Feeds' (Universal)

4/5

By: Toby L

NIN - 'Hand That Feeds'He's had it bad these past few years, ole Trent Reznor. So, hark! His rejuvenating, latest LP 'With Teeth' has been righteously proclaimed NIN's pop album, and it's without distain; finally, after personal turmoil and ample addiction (to virtually everything), the likes of 'Hand That Feeds' exhibits sublimely Trent's return to the fray, to himself.

Shady, but not quite as disparagingly bleak as before (favourably), the art of a tune is stretched sumptuously across chunky, bulbous keyboard and guitar riffage and our leader's own strained howls. Half floor-filler, half rehab-punk, these Nails will claw their way into your consciousness and leave open, seeping wounds. Don't reach for the bandage; you'll want them to stay that way.
