Peaches - 'Fatherf**ker'

Peaches is drugs. Peaches is rock 'n' roll. Peaches is comedy. Peaches is art. Peaches is sex. Peaches is glamour. Peaches is punk. Peaches is noise. Peaches is crap. Peaches is genius. Peaches... divides people.

Whatever, 'Fatherf**ker' is incredible - a sweeping statement of overt, f**k-you assurance and singularity that - no matter the content - is sure to surface as a cult-classic. It ain't the product, baybee - it's the packaging.

Through sampling Joan Jett's 'Bad Behaviour' (the opening stomp of 'I Don't Give A...'), or parading dark, electro-slenderness ('I'm The Kinda'), or suggesting orgies through a precision drum-machine loop ('I U She'), and duetting with a snarly Iggy Pop on a fervent, foaming, foul-mouthed 'Kick It', Peaches has conjured the ultimate soundtrack to the filthiest and most enticing house-party, or teeming, steaming club, without once falling susceptible to suffocating, decadent clichι.

The remainder of the abrupt and minimalist work veers in between shouting rock-imprints and irking, awkward electronica (the chilling 'Operate'), whilst providing laugh-out-loud smuttiness in the wangling disco of 'Shake Yer Dix' and messy lust of 'Bag It' or 'The Inch'. And never does the collection sag or lose the heat.

And in an age where PC-constraints still repress souls, Peaches injects anarchy and doesn't compromise. Listen, learn - indulge.
