Maximo Park - 'I Want You To Stay' (Warp)

Representing another plundering of the singles-laden riches of 'A Certain Trigger' like some sort of 21st century Geordie version of 'Thriller', 'I Want You To Stay' is far from being the finest moment on the record.
However, Maximo Park ought to be granted leniency because a) it opens with a staccato riff that's eerily reminiscent of Menswe@r's 'Daydreamer', and b) Maximo Park are ace, even when not at their heart attack-inducing, manic best.
