Graham Coxon - You & I

"Pop songs are like farts. You don't like other peoples, but you quite like your own" - Graham Coxon.

Perhaps that's the very reason why GC, the man famed for a love of dissonance over a chorus and initiating the move away from the more commercially friendly aspects of his previous band's back catalogue, today litters his album with the things. He's found out he's great at them. Choruses everywhere, hooks abound, riffs nothing but to the point. 'You & I' is about as blatantly tuneful as he's ever been, but gosh darn it, this positively sparkles - you'll even want to whistle along to the guitar solos.

There's a bit where it goes "la la la", and everything makes sense. Lovely. Pop songs are like farts. You don't like other peoples. You quite like your own. And you're willing to make an exception for Graham Coxon.
