So, what helped more, MySpace or having Keith Allen as her Dad? Or is she right in suggesting that sharing DNA with the questionable Mr Vindaloo himself was more of a hindrance than a help? The real question... does any of this matter?
Not one jot, as it happens - 'Smile', taken with no knowledge of context whatsoever (as most of the kids who bought it will have done), is just a pretty great pop record about revenge on blokes with casual swearing, a lilting, reggae-lite delivery and a front to the whole project who doesn't seem to care what she says to anyone or what anyone says about her, because she knows this tune's a winner.
Me, I don't care if the resulting album's full of utter guff (which still wouldn't be a surprise). This makes me grin.
