When humanity finally outgrows the idea of love, deeming it to be explainable merely in terms of chemical reactions beneficial to mating and the survival of the human race, starts creating all new life in test tubes and raises its kids via remote control, what will bands have to write about?
That futuristic situation being weeks off yet, bands like 28 Costumes still have time to plow that well worn furrow, and plow it here they do, trying to fit in as many mentions of how fantastic it is to think that someone else is fantastic in three and a bit minutes. Alright, it's kinda cute, all this talk of 'the most beautiful girl I've ever seen' and getting to 'sail away on an ocean wave', but to maintain any credibility it would need to be more twee than a kitten in a cardigan. As it is, it's oddly pub rock for such a soppy sentiment. It fails.
I don't believe what I first said, I was just fumbling for an opener. I believe in love. I just don't love this.
