Whenever phrases such as 'Mercury Prize-nominated', 'singer songwriter' and 'respect for tradition' appear in close proximity in an artist's record company biography, you just know that 'controversy' is not said artist's middle name.
There is no reason to doubt that Seth Lakeman is a thoroughly upstanding fellow who is always kind to small animals and nice to the elderly. However, 'Lady of the Sea', nimble little two and half minutes of unremarkable inoffensiveness, elicits little-to-no emotional response. No one will genuinely love it, just as surely as no one could truly bring themselves to hate it.
Still, at least he's not James Blunt.
