The Rapture - Get Myself Into It (Vertigo)
5/5

Here's a welcome return after two years of absence from the finest purveyors of punk funk and the cowbell - The Rapture - the band who were amongst those who brought the underground sound of their hometown NYC to the world's attention, and prompted a deluge of wannabes are back to prove they're still the top of their game.
The Paul Epworth-produced 'Get Myself Into It' is three-and-a-half minutes of pure sunshine, the alternative - and far cooler - summer choice to 'Club Tropicana'. The trademark sax and Luke Jenners' wail are stillthere, while the twanging reggae style guitar and the impossible to not dance to beat all combine to create a lighter, but no less edgy side to The Rapture. Oh yes, and then there's that chorus, possibly the most infectious one you'll hear this year.
'Get Myself Into It' is a polished disco hit that Madonna probably wishes that The Rapture would have written for her. Anyone who knows what it's like to dance at 3am to 'House of Jealous Lovers' (come on, you know you all have) will have no problem getting themselves into this.
