The Cooper Temple Clause - Waiting Game (Sanctuary)

3/5

By: Gareth Roberts

The Cooper Temple Clause - Waiting Game2006 was a testing year for the Coopers. First of all, they seemingly disappeared off the face of the planet, then bassist Didz (the only one whose name anyone could ever remember) left to become a Dirty Pretty Thing. Blast.

They return with 'Waiting Game', and it's clear that time (and evidently, age) has taken it's toll on the band in one way or another. Gone are the wall of sound rock monsters that captivated us in the first place, replaced by what can only be described as a mildly anthemic, feel-good style that's usually found sound-tracking high school rom-coms.

Don't get me wrong (why does everyone always get us wrong?) - it's a nifty tune, and one that we hope brings them the long overdue public attention which they have always deserved. Whether they've had to sell their soul to achieve this is another matter, but you know, all's fair in love and music.
