Parisians Blackstrobe return with another heavy industrial crate of a tune that will surely do their growing reputation as mixmaster extroadinaires no harm at all.
'Shining Bright Star', this being the Phones Industrial remix, is clearly an electro monster in waiting, sounding like the theme tune to some kind of US cop film, as sung by Gary Numan attempting to impersonate Trent Reznor. Without really doing much at all it manages to whip one into a tense frenzy, leaving you feeling similar to how I imagine the proverbial 'coiled spring' that everyone talks about must feel.
The pace picks up towards the end, but interestingly and somewhat unfortunately the release you're yearning for never materialises, leaving you no choice but to run into the wall numerous times until you've completely unwound.
Brill tune though.
