As off-kilter as ever, Jamie T's third single 'Calm Down Dearest' takes the stage in the same way a drunken uncle / nephew / cousin would at a wedding, the kind of confusingly enjoyable sound that occurs as it bounces from wall to wall and incredibly, it seems, your foot starts to tap.
True to style a strong chorus is the sturdy column around which this off-beat caterwauling occurs, which seems for so many to be something of genius and the rest something of strange existence. And during the rare moments of melody, it has to be said, that Jamie T can hold a very worthwhile tune. But what is obvious, once again, is the down to earth counterpoint which can be seen in the lives of so many others and that's what makes his music somewhat magical.
