Gym Class Heroes - Cupid's Chokehold (Fueled By Ramen)

At time of writing (Valentine's Day, no less...), there's surely not a better moment to write up a review of a release entitled 'Cupid's Chokehold'. Then again, it's true that this could come out on any day of any month - after all, love is all up in our faces the other 364 days of the bloody year, too...
But I digress. Though it does feature Brian Stump from emo-superstars Fall Out Boy, 'Cupid's Chokehold' is anything but an emo-centric song. Thing is, it's more of an urban-tinged, an almost hip-hoppish affair with shades of - gulp - Maroon 5-like arrangements.
Put off somewhat? Well, we'll level with ya - 'Cupid's Chokehold's shelf-life should indeed diminish faster than you can say 'Happy Valentines', but for the one day in the year, it's one of those to sit tight to, and just grin and bear it.
