Harrisons - Monday's Arms (Melodic)
4/5
By: Yousif Nur
Sheffield used to have a lot to answer for, but with the advent of following four freezing primates, Harrisons provide more danceable indie for our dancing shoes.
'Monday's Arms' has a pleasant and shoe shuffling sensibility, a tinge of ska and scatty guitar work replete with a shout-a-long chorus of 'ohhh, leave us alone / I shouldn't have to tell you down the microphone'.
Has this come a little late for the last carriage of the angular-punk-funk train? Maybe. Trouble is, when tunes are good as this it proves a dilemma because to its credit, it deserves to do well. But with the sign o' the times in 2007 with glowsticks all the range, it's a catch 22 situation.
