Air Traffic - Charlotte (EMI)
3/5
By: Matt Tomiak
On the evidence of the short, sharp, uncomplicated grunge-lite crunch of their latest single, Air Traffic are staunch advocates of the tried n' tested 'learn 3 chords and start a band' school of rock philosophy. And with more than just a dash of The Subways and early Ash, 'Charlotte' sounds uncannily familiar.
A pleasant, if slightly innocuous little record, it turns a bit moodier around the two minute mark- briefly threatening to turn into 'Territorial Pissings' by Nirvana- but refuses to get too aggressive during its concise duration.
