The Longcut - Idiot Check / You Got The Love (Melodic)

Two and a half years on from a promising debut EP, and not much seems to have changed in the world of Longcut. Not that we're complaining, as their cover of The Source's 'You Got The Love' could be the track to help the band make a seriously significant leap.
It's an ominous, bass-heavy post-punk thunderbolt, crammed full of shrieking, tornado-ish TV On The Radio guitars and euphoric, towering Kasabian vocals. Double a-side 'Idiot Check', meanwhile, finds the Manc threesome in the moody-yet-danceable indie disco vein of the first The Killers album.
