Note to MySpace generation: this is what indie used to sound like.
On the evidence of 'See You At The Lights', The 1990s are a most appositely named band. It's an apt moniker because here they sound like a cherry- picked fusion of alternative music's big hitters from the start of the last decade of the 20th century. This includes harmonious 'ba-ba-bas' befitting the 1990s fellow Scots, the mighty Teenage Fanclub, 'Modern Life...''-era Blur guitars and singer Jackie McKeown's Stephen Malkmus-esque howl. Ah, happy memories....
