Klaxons – Gravity’s Rainbow (Rinse)

4/5

By: Alex Lee Thomson

Klaxons - Gravitys RainbowHaven't we heard this before? Like most other underground bands that make it to the big leagues, Klaxons are privy to a period of re-release and the latest of these is their new (erm) single, 'Gravity's Rainbow'. With a bass line so fat it could sit on your face and kill you, this song is a showcase of the spectacle that is Klaxons. It's fast, suspenseful and stimulating. It's vigour and erratically inexorable vocal is harmoniously clad against an impulsive and well assembled dance beat that lures you into its (no, we cant say it... the words have lost all meaning) new rave (ah, we said it) core of rocket powered electric stupefaction.

"Come with me, come with me, I'll take you to infinity", they declare in their usual space age manner that's become synonymous with an unworldly powerhouse of pounding beats and unyielding command. Klaxons are a band very much on the perimeter of becoming legendary and have almost reinvented dance music for a cross-genre age and although this doesn't have the seduction of 'Golden Skans' or oomph of 'Magick', it's a well balanced picture of a group giving the country what they want; rock music you can dance your arse off to and dance music that you're proud to own, play and push onto others.
