This tracked scooped Colin Murray's 'Track of the Week' accolade on Radio 1 this week, you know. Now, as to whether this is a good thing or a bad thing, we remain unsure. But one thing is certain, and it's that 'Smother...' is a damn fine record.
Coming across as an amalgamation of all the life affirming/serious bands of recent times - step forward the likes of Neutral Milk Hotel, Modest Mouse, Arcade Fire - yet possessing a rather twee and decidedly friendly undercurrent, it really is a welcome diversion from the seemingly never ending conveyor belt of shouty lads in bands that we have to endure on a daily basis.
Despite Murray's endorsement, it's a lovely track, this. And I don't even know why I'm having a go at the fella to be honest. He seems like a nice bloke. My, The Kissaway Trail have put me in a fine mood, haven't they?
