Switches - Lay Down The Law (Atlantic)
3/5
By: Matt Tomiak
A sleazed-up and innuendo-saturated version of Franz Ferdinand's 'Take Me Out', this Essex-originating romp is only Switches' second proper single.
Clearly no shrinking violets, the Southend quartet are positively brimming with familiarity with and affection for self-assured rock classicism on 'Lay Down The Law.' Special bonus points are also awarded in recognition of sparkling two-minute B-Side 'Eye Need 2 No' and its uncanny resemblance to the candy-coated shiny pop perfection of Silver Sun.
